Guided walking tour of Paris Catacombs. This is a replica sculpture buildings near Port Mahon in Menorca – island off coast of Spain, Baleáric Sea- done by one of the “quarry men” of catacomb excavation. He did it on his “off time” between 1777-1782. He was building access stairs for this area after the work was done and there was a cave-in of his staircase area and he died. His name was Décure. Why did he know that Port enough to sculpt it? He could see it from his cell window when he was imprisoned on Menorca during the Seven Years’ War where he served as a soldier under the rule of King Louis XV.
